Special Risk Insurance
If you're working or traveling in a dangerous part of the world, or engaged in dangerous or professional sports, regular travel or health insurance will not provide the coverage that you need. We offer tailor-made coverage for journalists, sports teams, NGO or aid workers, and anyone else whose insurance needs are "outside the box" of regular travel insurance products.
Other Resources
Need information on travel to dangerous places? Want to hear or share stories, or read up on current information about trouble spots? Visit our specialized website, www.ComeBackAlive.com, developed in conjunction with Robert Young Pelton, author of The World's Most Dangerous Places.
Most off-the-shelf products exclude countries subject to government-issued travel advisories (the Department of Foreign Affairs in Canada, the State Department in the USA, etc.). These products also usually contain specific exclusions or limitations on acts of war or terrorism, professional sports, and other activities.
This is why it's vital to purchase supplementary coverage, custom-underwritten to cover the risks you will be facing. Below are some of the coverage options available to you. You may purchase any combination of these coverage options, or let us know if you are looking for something else.

Long-term disability coverage provides a larger lump-sum payment in the event that you remain totally disabled after the end of your short-term disability coverage.
